SFI Info

The SFI Foundation is a non-profit organization established to administer standards for the racing community. Practically all racing organizations from amateur to professional use SFI homologations to determine safety standards here in the U.S. The SFI specification establishes uniform test procedures and minimum standards for evaluating and determining performance capabilities for driver gear used by individuals engaged in competitive motorsports. This is a great way to make sure the products you are using are meeting adequate safety standards. In order to pass homologations, each individual piece that makes a complete item is tested, from zippers and threads to the actual assembly of materials.
